Photographer Fattens FLOTUS for Fourth

That photo by Carlos Barrias [Reuters] of President and First Lady Trump looked a bit odd to me, because within seconds of that photo, Melania Trump dropped 30 pounds.

Reuters has a history of photojournalistic malfeasance.

Carlos Barrias’ Reuters bio includes this gem:

“I was very moved after covering the earthquake in Haiti. I was one of the first journalists from Reuters to arrive, and I was there for about 45 days. It was long and tough. You can see human beings at their most basic instinct for survival.

It was a very weird feeling in Haiti because I know I was there doing my job, and I would like to feel that our job means something for people, but at the same time I felt powerless. What do you say when a kid comes to you and asks you for water and food, and you have nothing but a camera? I couldn’t answer that question, and I felt frustrated that I couldn’t do anything.”

[Confidential to @ReutersBarria: I don’t know you, never met you, but you’re full of sanctimonious crap. You were in Haiti for 45 days without food or water? Sure you were. Please click on this. The first 50 seconds are just for you.]

Stairway to Aleppo? Yeah, Right.

Stairway to Aleppo

Earliest date found for this image [via Tineye] is 1 April 2014 with this caption:

Left After Assad Bombing in Aleppo.

I have a bit of a problem with that structural impossibility, and so does physics. Then I found this:

Stairway to Aleppo 0
That image dates to 23 March 2014. A more recent post dated 19 June 2015 comes from TehranPress.com. Even Google Translate can’t crack that one, but it appears that someone’s laughing.

Stairway to Aleppo Original

This seems to be the unadulterated version, with an interesting caption:

Residents try to find their belongings among the rubble left of their homes after what activists said was an air attack from forces loyal to Syria’s President Bashar Al-Assad in Bab Neirab, Aleppo, on July 27, 2013.

That caption and image came from The Atlantic via *ahem* Reuters… who have never *cough* posted manipulated propaganda photos before.
[Hint: Google Islamic Rage Boy, Green Helmet Man, Wailing Woman, Iraqi Missile Photoshop.]

Yet even the description (“what activists said”) sounds specious. When Assad was under attack by the Muslim Brotherhood, why would his forces bomb his own people, unless Syria was already infiltrated by radical islam?

Oh, wait…

[Top image found here entirely by accident, and the others didn’t come from Little Green Footballs either.]

MSM Explains Away Egg on Face

Reuters headlines their article on the Sarah Palin blog-o-smears story: Palin hubbub shows bloggers’ influence on race.

My take is a little different. I think it shows the influence of a bunch of borderline sociopaths on a mainstream media that often consists of the same sort of people.

A Notice From Reuters to the World (Or at Least, to Israel)

Notice to the military forces of the world: Reuters says you had better make absolutely sure there are no journalists in the war zone before firing your weapons. And if you have any doubt, hold your fire.

Failure to comply will result in press releases and deeply disturbed CEOs. You have been warned.

Israel clears troops who killed Reuters cameraman.

Reuters said on Wednesday it was deeply disturbed by a conclusion that severely curtails the freedom of the media to cover the conflict by effectively giving soldiers a free hand to kill without being sure they were not firing on journalists.

And that goes for you too, Russia. Or maybe not.
